Most often we stream from just one location in a church. and other times we can be covering the family home, the church service, the Burial and the Wake. Is it weird to Live Stream a Funeral?
Our first live streamed funeral was for a family member during the first lockdown in 2020 when, due to Government covid restrictions, only six family members were permitted to attend. Since then we’ve streamed scores of funerals and have yet to meet anyone who thinks it’s weird or insensitive. Our experience is opposite, often receiving compliments and thanks with friends and family saying it’s ‘a great idea’.
On occasions we’ve had hundreds of viewers join us online and have received great feedback and thanks from all over the world for making it possible.
The technology that we use has come along way for professional funeral live stream companies, so staying discreet and taking up only a small ‘footprint’ means we can film from a distance without getting in the way.
What if my church or crematorium already has a live stream installed?
There are many occasions where a client doesn’t use the system installed in a Church or a Crematorium. Obitus and Wesley are the low-cost, unattended systems used in most of these locations. The quality of the stream is reflected in the price.
Always ask for an example of what they provide so that you can make an informed decision over whether to use their system or ours.
